Steps to Add your E-mail Account to your Apple I-phone:
For this document, we will use the Domain Name “Sample” as
Requirements
Before you start, you'll need the following:
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.sample.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.sample.com
- Port: 25
- Your email address: myname@sample.com
- Your email password.
- Choose IMAP or POP3 – IMAP
Step 1: From the home screen, select the Settings menu. See Figure 1.
Step 2: From the Settings menu, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars to enter the e-mail setup menu.
Step 3: In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu you then select “Add Account…” to add a new email profile
Step 4: For email type, you will want to select “Other”, then click on “Add Mail Account”
Step 5: Next, enter your name, email address, password, and account description and click Next.
Step 6: Enter your incoming email server, outgoing email server, username and password.
Step 7: Once all information is entered, click Save to save the information. Your I-phone will then verify the entered account information and redirect you to the Mail screen.
Notes:
You will still need to configure your folders since you are using IMAP. Select your newly created account and enter the Advanced section and change your IMAP Path Prefix from “/” to “INBOX”.
